About the Project
Wuffoos is a pet care marketplace for Mexico that connects pet owners with trusted local sitters for boarding, dog walking, doggy day care and grooming. Owners can find and book care in seconds, and sitters get the tools to run their pet care business.
The platform serves both sides of the market, with full English and Spanish support and pricing in Mexican pesos.
The Challenge
Handing your pet to someone you have never met takes real trust. The platform had to make that trust visible at every step, from vetting sitters before they can accept bookings to keeping owners updated during every stay, while keeping booking fast for owners and simple for sitters.
What We Built
Two connected experiences, one for pet owners and one for sitters:
- Owner booking flow: choose a service, set dates and times, then search sitters with detailed filters such as home features, other pets and children in the home
- Pet profiles, so sitters know each animal before the stay
- Sitter onboarding with identity verification: document upload and review before a sitter can go live
- Sitter dashboard to create services, manage bookings and track booking history
- Real-time messaging between owners and sitters over WebSockets
- Interactive maps for location-based search, sitter locations on profiles and a service-radius picker for dog walkers
- Secure payments with Stripe
- Complete English and Spanish localisation
Tech Stack
Next.js 16 and React 19, Redux Toolkit with persisted state, Tailwind CSS 4, Socket.IO for real-time chat, Leaflet for maps, Stripe for payments, GSAP for motion, and Docker for deployment.
